So Obama is Like Hitler?
So, I know I talk about politics too much, but really, anyone who talks about politics probably talks about it too much.
The conservatives and the Fox News people — I’m sorry that was redundant — have been comparing Obama to Hitler the last few months. I’m just watching the Daily Show now (I shouldn’t, I’m gonna grow up to be some obnoxious pundit who contributes nothing to society). I’m seeing something about these people. Let’s compare.
Obama: Trying to bring a message of hope, blah blah. True, a bit of a demagogue, but one that goes for every demographic, and attempts to be inclusive.
Hitler: Yelled and ranted about anyone who opposed him. Found a bitter populous to exploit and alienated all others.
Fox News: Yells and rants about anyone who’s not conservative or who criticizes them. Find bitter American populous and exploit their anger and ignorance. (Hey, ratings are great, right?)
Obama: Had some passionate rallies — oh, and they were fun — while campaigning. Now he mostly does presidential stuff.
Hitler: Held rallies in which he burned books, decried alleged enemies to the German people, and promoted a furiously nationalist sentiment.
Fox News: Promotes rallies (which they then cover) where they dump teabags, decry alleged enemies of the American people, and promote a furiously nationalist sentiment.
Obama: Reaches out to all people, even those who compare him to Hitler, Stalin, or Osama. He even acknowledges the citizens who are [gasp] don’t believe in his invisible deity. Tries not to hate on people and apologises (with beer!) when he does.
Hitler: Reached out to white, German people who were usually Christian. Vilified homosexuals, pacifists, liberals, a particular Abrahamic, originally Middle-Eastern religion and ethnic group (Jews). Hated the French.
Fox News: Reach out to all the hard-working Americans (face it you assholes, the teabaggers are at least 99.9% white). Vilify liberals, rationalists, Middle-Easterners, and a particular Abrahamic religion (Muslims). Hate the French.
Obama: Haven’t heard much from him on history, but he usually gets it right, and doesn’t use it crazily.
Hitler: Lied about history, ignored parts of history pertinent to arguments, made up bullshit about history.
Fox News: Lie about history, ignore parts of history pertinent to arguments, make up bullshit about history.
So, I don’t want to say anyone is a Nazi, but if the conservatives are going to start, then here’s my question: Who’s the new Führer? Is it Beck or Hannity?
On a Happy Note: I think I’m doing well in my classes, and my lower points aren’t quite as low lately. I’m going to try to get my webcomic started (since I have far too much freetime) but my computer hates hardware, and this includes my roommate’s scanner.
